Debbie and Mike

We are in our early 60’s 70’s, mostly retired, looking to travel in our RV as much as possible.

Debbie

I have gained a variety of experience in my lifetime and have worn many hats.   I started as a computer operator/programmer.  After getting married, decided to stay home and raise our kids.  We have three kids all grown and married.  Always had a passion for the theater so while home, my husband bought me a video camera and when I got a taste of being behind the camera, I had a new passion.  I produced and directed TV shows for local cable.  Then I became the chief photographer for an NBC affiliate.  It was not bringing in enough money, so I went back into technology. I started in computer support, then wireless network design, and eventually security system camera design at the University of Illinois.  I retired early but did not like staying home.  My sons and I are storm chasers and have been for over 20 years.  Because of this, my youngest son Tom and I took an EMT course and I fell in love with the work.  From there, I went on to get my intermediate EMT license.  I worked with two ambulance companies part-time and loved it. However, it took too much of a physical strain on my body so after 4 years I went to work as a healthcare tech in a level 1 trauma emergency hospital.  I loved it and wished I would had become a doctor instead of working in technology. I would work 12 hours in the trauma center and come home pumped versus 8 hours in technology and feeling very stressed out. But I finally had to give it up and retire.  I use my life experiences to help others when needed.  I still storm chase, love to travel, photograph, and love people.  I am not one to sit still and am not a fan of aging.   Look forward to meeting others in our RV travels.  Happy Trails Everyone!  Hope to meet you soon!  Do not hesitate to say hello!

Mike

I am an electrical engineer and computer programmer by schooling, a mechanic, a third-generation handyman, a photographer, a writer, and a graphic artist by life experience.  Having spent many hours going through our, and our kid’s RV’s that I should be an RV tech.  I have written a book on the subject of the common problems found in modern RVs and how to do basic repairs. The second edition is available on Amazon Your RV is Broken!

We used to operate a photography business in our “spare time”.  We still do the occasional product photography job when our schedule permits.

See you On the Road!

Mike
