Ketogenic or Keto for short. It is NOT ketoacidosis nor does it create ketoacidosis. Some doctors misunderstand this. Mike and I have been on this diet for over a year now. We have also personally shared our findings with some family and friends who have changed their lives as well. The benefits are truly amazing. Feel 10 to 20+ years younger. We do not worry about cancer, heart disease, diabetes or Alzheimers. That alone is a huge stress relief for as you age, you wonder if you will come down with any of these. We want the best for everyone.

How do you feel about drug addicts? Well, most everyone is addicted except for those on the Keto diet who are doing it the correct way. No addiction at all. Addicted to what? Carbohydrates (carbs) and sugar. And while drugs will destroy your body and health, so will carbs and sugar. We get it. Cake, ice cream, breads, cookies and wonderful sauces and dips all taste great, but for how long? 10 seconds in your mouth? Then what does it do to your body and health after you get your feel-good fix? Why do you get hungry throughout the day? Keep reading.

Our bodies convert and use energy from sugars, carbs, fat or proteins. When you eat carbs or sugar, insulin, produced by the pancreas, is increased to tell your body to convert excess glucose (sugar and carbs) into fat and store it. When insulin is spiked too much for too long, the body begins to ignore the insulin command. This is insulin resistance, which leads to high blood sugar. As your body stops storing sugar your liver tries to maintain balance; storing glucose as fat in itself, creating a fatty liver. You can be resistant for many years without realizing the unhealthy effects creeping up on you. This process is behind many diseases. It is not a hard diet to follow. Once you have changed over, your body burns ketones (from fat) which is so much healthier for you. You will feel significantly better and you will lose weight. Losing weight is secondary compared to the health benefits. You eat as much as you want until you are full. Keto is 70% calories from “good fat”, 20% protein and 5% carbs. Now they are learning that if you keep your carbs to 20 grams or less, you can heal many things in your body. Read the back of food packages and see how many grams of carbs are in the food. Dr. Annette Bozworth is reversing her mom’s cancer of 10 years. She is a medical doctor of 20+ years and has done a ton of research into the Keto lifestyle which itself is over 100 years old. FACT: Cancer thrives off of carbs and sugar. Cancer cannot live off of Ketones.

Mike and I are down to one good meal a day. We started out 3, then went to two and now one because we are getting so much nutrition from that meal, we do not get hungry. Our energy comes from fat and not carbohydrates which burn off so rapidly, that you have to eat constantly throughout your day. We have no intentions to switching back. We don’t want to be on prescription drugs, or in a wheel-chair or on our backs in a hospital or rehab center. We want to live the rest of our lives with the energy we enjoyed when we were younger and healthier than ever for as long as God allows us.
